African Descent Ontario (ADSON) proudly presents the Global African Arts & Heritage Celebration 2025, a two-day festival celebrating the richness, diversity, and creativity of African arts and culture. This event brings together artists, cultural ambassadors, youth, and community leaders from Canada and across the globe to showcase talent, share knowledge, and foster collaboration.

The celebration provides a platform for cultural exchange, highlighting traditional and contemporary African music, dance, fashion, and visual arts while promoting skill development, entrepreneurship, and community engagement. Additionally, the event includes end-of-year reflection sessions, celebrating ADSON’s achievements and milestones throughout 2025.

Event Goal

To celebrate, preserve, and promote African culture and creativity, while creating meaningful connections and opportunities for artists, youth, and community leaders in Canada and internationally.

Day 1 – December 20, 2025

Theme: African Arts & Culture Showcase – Connecting Local & Global Communities

Delegates receive welcome kits, name tags, and refreshments. Multilingual support for international participants.

9:30 AM – 10:00 AM: Opening Remarks
Welcome address by ADSON Director, acknowledgment of international delegates, and overview of the event goals and schedule.

10:00 AM – 12:00 PM: African Fashion & Craft Showcase
Local and international designers display traditional and contemporary African attire, jewelry, and crafts. Live demonstrations include weaving, embroidery, beadwork, and modern fashion innovations.

12:00 PM – 1:00 PM: Networking Lunch
Traditional African cuisine served. Delegates engage with local and international participants to foster cultural exchange and collaboration.

1:00 PM – 3:00 PM: Music & Dance Workshop
Interactive session with African musicians and choreographers. Participants, including international delegates, experience African drumming, singing, and dance styles.

3:00 PM – 3:30 PM: Tea/Coffee Break
Informal networking and discussions.

3:30 PM – 5:00 PM: Panel Discussion: “Empowering African Diaspora Artists Worldwide”
Panel featuring Canadian and international artists discussing challenges, opportunities, and strategies for global collaboration. Interactive Q&A included.

5:00 PM – 5:45 PM: End-of-Year Highlights – 2025
ADSON leadership presents key achievements, projects, and milestones from 2025, highlighting community impact and successes.
